The digital industry, or 4.0 industry, will create around 13,000 new posts in Catalonia by 2030. This is the conclusion of a report made public a few days ago by the Departament d’Empresa i Coneixement del Govern català. This report underlines how positive the introduction of the digital industry in Catalonia will be, even though its distribution by sectors might be uneven. The services sector will certainly benefit from it. The industry in general, though, will suffer a decrease in the number of workers. It also states that specific training to the work force will be needed to facilitate the transition between industries.
