The amount of foreign investment companies in Catalonia increases by 22% over the last year

According to recently publicized data from ACCIÓ, agency for the competitiveness of businesses, the amount of foreign companies located in Catalonia has increased a 22% over the last year. Currently, there are 8,642 foreign investment companies located here. In this context, foreign investment companies are considered those with a foreign investment over 50% of their total capital. Since 2013, an increase of 3,040 companies has been registered, a growth over 54%. From these companies, a 7% (589) are big companies, a 15% (1,289) are medium-sized companies, a 57% (4,939) are small companies, and a 21% (1,818) are micro-companies.
