International tourists spent in January a total of 912 million euros in Catalonia, a 11.1% more than same month last year. This figure is greater than the mean increase for Spain as a whole (+5.6%), according to Frontur, (monthly survey on touristic expenditure by the INE). What’s more, with 862,872 tourists (+2%) in January, Catalonia represents the 21.0% of all tourism in Spain. These figures confirm that the negative tendency of 2017’s last quarter has changed.
